Britain isn’t eating

Britain Isn’t Eating is a brilliant short film, made by the Guardian and featured on their website yesterday. It reflects the negative attitudes some people have towards food banks and those who need to use them, and seems to be a response to the comments made by the likes of Edwina Currie and Lord Freud.

  1. I thought this was a brilliant little film – the bit about the cooker not being on especially poignant.

    • I thought it was good to include that too, because I don’t think some people realise if you’re relying on food from a food bank, the chances are you may well not be able to pay for gas and electricity. Also, some people using food banks don’t have any cooking facilities to begin with, eg. if they’re homeless.
