Wasteless Wednesday

If you haven’t seen Thomas Luttikhold’s anti food waste videos yet, you’re in for a mid week treat. From his ‘crappy kitchen’ (his words, not mine!) in Holland, Thomas makes fun and easy to follow videos with tips on reducing food waste. In this introductory video, he explains how his idea of the Wasteless Week came about:

Thomas has started putting together a series of videos on how to regrow shop bought fruit and vegetables, including celery, ginger and pineapples, to help people get more for their money – and have fun growing stuff at the same time!  My favourite video is this one, although the spring onion soda can tower is worth having a look at.

I’ve really enjoyed watching these videos, because everything is so straightforward that anyone can have a go. Having acquired some killer chillies recently from a friend who grows several different varieties, I’ve been inspired to try growing some myself in the New Year. I’m not sure I have the patience for that ginger though…!
